A Time For Healing:
On this episode of City Corner, Host, Robin Boyce welcomes the Majic 108 Peer Panel. This group got its start in St. Louis urban radio in the late 1980’s. Boyce invited students 18 to 20 years of age to come on a public affairs program she hosted once a month to discuss problems teens were facing at that time. The Peer Panel was initiated by Michael McMillan, now CEO and President of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. McMillan was then a student in High School wanting to see changes happen in his community. The group talked about racism in schools, lack of jobs, and the necessity of more youth services. Boyce and the Peer Panelist will discuss what is going on today as a result of the events in Ferguson, Missouri and compare what they were seeing as youth while on the air as the Majic 108 Peer Panelist.
