Human trafficking is the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sexual exploitation. According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, every year, millions of men, women, and children of all ages, races, genders and nationalities are trafficked worldwide. January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, during which the public is educated on how human trafficking works and is being combated.
