The New Jewish Theatre, St. Louis’ Premier Small Professional Theatre, is a culturally specific theatre dedicated to the exploration of universal themes and issues and the examination of the full range of the human experience filtered through the lens of the Jewish experience. One in particular is Donald Margulies’ play “Sight Unseen,” where the audience meets Jonathan Waxman, a Brooklyn born Jewish artist whose meteoric rise from obscurity to “visionary painter” has attracted collectors eager to buy his future works sight unseen.
